Founded in 2020, we’re a
youth-focused, trauma-informed entrepreneurship program in Dhaka, Bangladesh run out of
The Tech Academy in partnership with
the International Mental Health Association.
At The Blue School, our goal is to get students excited about innovation and involved in start-up spaces around the world. We do this by starting with what we believe is the best source of ideas in the world,
the minds of our youth.
At The Blue School, we operate on the principle that Interest + Time = Passion. We start by asking students what interests them and run from there. During the program, students share ideas, form project teams, and pursue their vision. When the program concludes, some students have a product, others have found their passion, and all have developed as people.
In line with Blue Ocean Philosophy, we focus on new ideas that require habit change on the part of the consumer. This requires our students to develop agile interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
At The Blue School, EQ > IQ.
Start-up realities change rapidly, so we encourage Blue School students to stay curious, and pivot, pivot, pivot. We value the intrapersonal development of our students, resilience is just as important as
creativity in this line of work.
Our students come to us skilled in technology and excited about innovation. We take a strengths-based perspective to student development, choosing to focus on what they do well -- all while striving to learn and grow.
Throughout the program, we ask hard questions that get back to the basics; who is this helping, who is it hurting, and who has been forgotten? At The Blue School, we build entrepreneurs who are as ethical as they are impactful, creativity with a conscience.
The Tech Academy is a fusion of an academy and an innovation lab. Children learn programming, electronics and mechanics through a gamified experience, move to an advanced level to collaborate with teachers and come up with tech innovations of their own for the real world.
