Meet Biko

Babu Biko (he/his)

Regional Communications Coordinator

The Backstory

Babu Biko is a communications specialist based in Nairobi, Kenya. Following several years working in the mainstream media, Biko resigned so that he would be able to use his communications skills to bring more trauma-informed, holistic content to a traumatized world. IMHA gave him that opportunity and he didn't look back.

Core Strengths

Biko’s core strengths are problem solving, creative writing, editing, videography and filmmaking and humor. He values the need to have an all inclusive media

(both traditional and digital) that tables the issues of mental health in a sensitive way; sensitive to people's stories, feelings, strengths and voices.

Besides being in communication, Biko is also a youth leader, a husband, a brother,

a son and a football coach (you may call it soccer, and that's cool!).

Guiding Quote

"The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed" Steve Biko
