Social Changer Maker - Nairobi, Kenya
Dorcas came to IMHA as a volunteer with an idea for the Bright Star Initiative. With Daniel and Biko's support, she began the journey together to change the lives of young moms across the world. Dorcas a maker at heart, focused on social change. She is passionate about working with young mothers in slum areas and trying to make their lives better. A core part of her work is fighting stigma and supporting moms in using their voices.
Her core strength is her skill and ease in working with people. Her listening skills and warm nature make it easy to open up to her. She loves interacting with people and listening to their stories. She is also a very amazing table tennis player and loves taking creative photographs. She value honesty, community and friendship. She will always lend a hand where needed and that I believe that everyone has something to offer. Besides being a maker, she is also a wife, a sister, daughter, singer and photographer.
"Don't wait for someone to ask you for help, help them instead." - Robert Moses
